This well established retail travel company have a reputation for providing a truly professional service, and their team of experts are skilled at providing a personalised approach to match customers to their dream holidays.  They now have a new opportunity for 2 experienced Travel Consultants to join their retail team in SE London.  Salary of £25k to £30k basic plus lucrative commission. 
  

Travel Consultant – Role & Responsibilities:

  • Provide a friendly, professional service to customers both face to face or over the phone to determine travel needs, budget and preferences.
  • Use sales ability to book all elements of the trip including upselling extras such as transfers, excursions, and insurance etc.
  • Provide advice to customers using expert knowledge of destinations, cultures, weather and activities.
  • Offer a customer focused after sales service, to collect payments, deal with any questions and handle any amendments & cancellations etc.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers and tour operator partners.  
  • Conduct own research to build and main strong destination knowledge and stay abreast of industry trends.
  • Maintain an accurate record of bookings, payments, transactions, phone calls and meetings.
  • Represent the company as required to attend travel events & conferences.

Travel Consultant – Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a travel consultant, ideally minimum of 2 years’ experience.
  • Strong worldwide knowledge of popular holiday destinations.
  • Ability to deliver high quality customer service and passion for creating exceptional travel experiences.
  • A genuine passion for travel and its ever-changing landscape, staying current with global travel trends and events, and competitor activities.
  • A tenacious, positive approach with a proven track record in travel sales.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of travel booking systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and numerical competence.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills.

Travel Consultant - Additional information:

  • Salary dependent on experience, £25k to £30k basic plus lucrative commission scheme. Salary review after 3 months.
  • 100% office based in retail travel store in SE London.
  • Monday to Friday 08.30 to 17.30 with circa 1 in 4 Saturdays 08.30 to 16.00. 
  • Regular fam trips
