Travel Sales Consultant required by required by a Friendly, Active Travel, Tour Company. £25K per annum. Based in Hertfordshire. Travel Sales Consultants deliver excellent customer service by promoting and selling group tours. They convert enquiries into sales, upsell and cross-sell, while also managing administrative tasks related to bookings, such as flight arrangements, with a consultative and empathetic approach to client needs.
Travel Sales Consultant Responsibilities:
• Leverage expertise to guide customers in selecting the ideal holiday to various global destinations.
• Utilize strong sales abilities to meet monthly targets and identify upselling opportunities.
• Build and maintain customer relationships, providing outstanding service and cultivating a personal client base.
• Respond quickly and effectively to inquiries via web/live chat.
• Proactively generate sales through lead follow-ups and outbound calls.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and uphold the company’s reputation through excellent service.
• Share in-depth product knowledge with clients and team members.
• Collaborate with Tour Leaders and other key stakeholders to foster relationships.
• Keep clients informed with regular updates on pending queries.
• Understand and support the team’s administrative tasks.
• Participate in overseas educational/UK trips and occasionally attend trade events as needed.
• Adhere to the company’s Health and Safety policies.
• Be available to work Saturdays on a rotation and remain flexible with hours.
Travel Sales Consultant Skills and Experience:
• Previous sales experience, preferably in the travel industry.
• Strong customer service skills and a drive to succeed.
• Friendly, professional phone etiquette.
• Good understanding of geography.
• A passion for walking and travel experience.
• A consultative, empathetic approach to customer needs.
• Ability to inspire enthusiasm for walking holidays in clients.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to perform well under pressure.
• Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently, as well as within a team.
• Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Familiarity with GDS (Amadeus) is preferred but not required, as training is available.
Travel Sales Consultant Additional Info:
