Tour Manager Lead
Are you an experienced and driven travel professional looking for new a rewarding role? This well-established and award-winning company specialising in escorted touring holidays, is seeking a Tour Manager Lead to join their Operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dynamic team, leading the recruitment, training, and support of freelance Tour Managers, ensuring exceptional holiday experiences for customers. Salary circa £30k, hybrid working.
Tour Manager Lead – Role & Responsibilities:
As the Tour Manager Lead, you will play a key role in the recruitment, professional development, and management of a team of freelance Tour Managers. From ensuring smooth tour allocations to providing ongoing support and feedback.
- Recruit, train, and support a high-performing team of freelance Tour Managers.
- Monitor and manage performance using guest feedback and annual summaries.
- Allocate Tour Managers to planned holidays, balancing operational needs and preferences.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training and induction programme.
- Foster a sense of belonging through newsletters, meet ups, and regular communication.
- Ensure all paperwork, contracts, and policies are accurate and up to date.
- Lead and support the Tour Manager Co-Ordinator in their responsibilities.
- Participate in the emergency phone rota for 24-hour operational cover.
Tour Manager Lead – Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience in the travel industry in operations, service delivery, or Tour Manager / Leader roles.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills with a “can-do” attitude.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to last-minute changes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft systems (Excel, Word, Outlook) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- A passion for travel and a customer-focused mindset.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with Tour Managers and team members.
