- Travel placements hit highest level since April
- New vacancies and jobseekers both increase from 2023
Big increase in travel job placements
The number of new candidates being placed in travel jobs jumped by 32 per cent last month, according to the latest figures from C&M Travel Recruitment.
October 2024 recorded the highest total volume of placements since April and the second highest number since July 2023. Last month's figure was also up by 28 per cent from October 2023.
Recruitment activity rises
There was also a 37 per cent annual jump in the number of new travel jobs being made available. October's total was the third highest figure of the year, although it was down by three per cent from September.
In addition, last month saw a slight annual increase in the number of new candidates searching for travel jobs with a two per cent rise from October 2023. However, the figure was down by two per cent from September 2024.
Speaking about the stats, Barbara Kolosinska, Managing Director at C&M Travel Recruitment, said: "October was a very positive month for travel recruitment with placements rising by a third from September, and more importantly, also up by 28 per cent from last year. In fact, new jobs and candidates also both rose from October 2023, so we saw all three metrics rise year-on-year for only the second time this year.
"This is great momentum that we hope to see replicated through the remainder of 2024. With more jobs being made available, this is a fantastic time for candidates to look at the options now available to them and potentially start 2025 with an exciting new role."
